A post-doctoral fellow position is available at the Duke Center for In Vivo Microscopy (www.civm.duhs.duke.edu). The successful candidate will work in a high-performance computing environment on adapting, developing and implementing methods for small animal image analysis, based on integrating multimodal imaging. MR, CT, microSPECT, and optical microscopy will be used to provide quantitative biomarkers for small animal models of human disease. The position is fully funded for a period of 2 years by the NIBIB. The Center for In Vivo Microscopy laboratory has a strong history in high-field magnetic resonance microscopy and micro CT, and has recently added confocal microscopy and SPECT. Required Qualifications: · PhD in Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, Physics or similar · Good written and oral communication skills in English · Good publication record · Proficiency with programming languages (C, C++, R, Perl, MATLAB) · Ability to conduct independent research Preferred Qualifications: · Experience working in a high performance computing environment · Experience with image processing, machine learning, and analysis of large data sets · Experience with MRI pulse sequence programming Interested applicants are invited to send a: i) Cover letter, ii) Curriculum Vitae, and iii) arrange to have 2 reference letters sent to: Alexandra Badea (alexandra.badea@duke.edu).Preferred start date June 2014.
