The UAB Department of Psychology is seeking applications for a tenure-track/tenured position in Behavioral Neuroscience. The Department supports three doctoral programs (Behavioral Neuroscience, Medical/Clinical, and Lifespan Developmental). The rank of this position is open. Although the area of specialization is open, individuals in the areas of addiction, cognitive neuroscience, feeding, neuroimaging, pain, and psychopharmacology are of particular interest.
Excellent research facilities are available including three magnets for neuroimaging; a Philips 3T magnet, an incoming Siemens Allegra 3T head-only magnet, and a Varian 4.7T vertical magnet for studies in awake, behaving primates. Behavioral neuroscience faculty members routinely collaborate with scientists and clinicians from many other units on campus, including Anesthesiology, Nutrition Sciences, Neurobiology, Psychiatry, and Vision Sciences.
