Statement:
I study the interplay of automatic mental processes and more controlled, deliberative, and symbolic processes as they relate to social cognition and emotional processing. I conduct fMRI studies examining how verbal labeling of emotions dampens these emotional respones, how the pain of social rejection is represented in the brain, and how the automatic and controlled aspects of self-knowledge are neurally instantiated and produce behavioral consequences.

I sincerely apologize that we have a long-standing and unresolved problem that users are unable to modify the database contents using their logins and passwords. I hope that we can fix this problem soon. In the meantime, I will try to do this manually as best I can.
